Far Western University (FWU) was established in 2010 by an Act of the Parliament of Nepal, is a government-funded national university to serve as a prime academic institution in the country, focusing on academic excellence, research-based education, community engagement, and partnerships. The Prime Minister of Nepal is its Chancellor. The central office ofthe university is in Bhimdatta Municipality, Kanchanpur District, within the Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal.
